Full Text of JOE Listing:

The economics program is uniquely situated in the Department of Mathematics and Economics, with approximately 30 majors in economics. Additional undergraduate majors include mathematics and mathematics education; the graduate M.S. program in mathematics is large, growing, and mostly online. It is anticipated that one of the two positions will help us to expand our economics offerings at the graduate and undergraduate levels and potentially aid in the development of an informatics program. For example, the ability to teach econometrics to master's students in math is highly desirable.

Faculty are expected to teach 12 hours/semester (i.e., face-to-face undergraduate courses and online graduate courses). Optional summer teaching is frequently available, and is typically online. Prior experience with online teaching is not required; new faculty usually start by team teaching online with experienced colleagues. Scholarship and professional service is expected.

An economics, statistics, or mathematics Ph.D. is required. Cross-disciplinary teaching in these and/or ability to recruit, instruct, or work with diverse populations are a plus.

Review of applications will begin December 1, 2016 and will continue until filled. To apply and see a full position description go to: https://www.mathjobs.org/jobs/jobs/9653
