US-based sell side equity research firm is seeking candidates with PhDs in economics or related fields with relevant industry/academic/policy experience to join the Macro Research team as an Economist. Candidates with an MBA and exceptional experience, particularly in the area of equity research, will be considered as well.

Job Requirements: 5-10 years work experience, preferably in Capital Markets in asset management firms or investment research firms.

The US Economist will have in-depth understanding of the US economic outlook as well as a deep knowledge on the global impact of other markets on the US economy, particularly to how it relates to the US equity market. The Economist will be joining the Macro Research team to conduct original, thematic, and topical research on the intersection of macroeconomics, the capital markets, and monetary and fiscal policy, with a clear focus on implications for the US equity market at the index, sector, industry, and company level. Familiarity with fundamental equity data is highly desired. In addition to quantitative skills, the US Economist will write original research and communicate to the internal salesforce and external clients. Stellar oral and written communication skills are a must. The US Economist will be expected to develop strong relationships with the research firm's key clients who consist of large and sophisticated institutional investors.
