The Congressional Research Service (CRS) works exclusively for the United States Congress, providing objective, nonpartisan research and analysis to committees and Members of the House and Senate. The Government and Finance Division (G&F) seeks a senior manager to serve as Deputy Assistant Director and Specialist. The selectee will support the Assistant Director in managing G&F, which provides expert research to meet ongoing congressional policy making and oversight needs in issue areas including the organization, structure, operations and management of Congress and its support agencies, and of the executive and judicial branches; the congressional budget and appropriations process and the legislative process; homeland security and emergency management; cybersecurity; community development; elections and American federalism; and banking, financial institutions, insurance and securities, taxation, public finance, fiscal and monetary policy, the public debt, and such economic indicators as gross domestic product, inflation and savings.

In addition, the Deputy Assistant Director serves with full delegated authority as the Assistant Director in his/her absence. The Deputy Assistant Director performs special research, consultative, or administrative assignments as requested by the Director.
