The Ohio University Economics Department is seeking a full-time, non-tenure track, Lecturer to begin in August, 2017. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated professional instructor who is experienced and committed to working with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Contracts are for nine-month periods and are renewable annually for the first five years and can be renewable for five-year periods thereafter. Promotion to Associate Lecturer is possible after the initial 5-year period. Promotion and long-term contracts are conferred based on merit.

The current normal teaching load is three classes per semester. Service to the department, college and university is also expected. Summer teaching is often available and entirely voluntary.

Classes to be taught are principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics, either intermediate macroeconomics or intermediate microeconomics, and a field course(s) based on the candidate’s expertise.

PhD in Economics or related field by the start date of the appointment is required.

Candidates for the position will be expected to show evidence of and the aptitude to teach undergraduate level Economics courses including principles of micro- and macro-economics, a course in his/her field and either intermediate macro- or micro-economics. Successful experience teaching economics in large classroom settings (200 plus students) is a plus.
