Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Environmental Defense Fund’s (EDF) Office of Economic and Policy Analysis (OEPA) seeks one recent Ph.D. recipient with expertise in environmental, energy or natural resource economics — for a two-year post-doctoral fellowship beginning June 2017.

OEPA is a team of economists and analysts, led by EDF’s Chief Economist, which provides analytical support and thought leadership within the organization and beyond. We collaborate with programmatic and regulatory staff, blending economic insights from cutting edge research with practical experience to design and implement market-based solutions to critical resource and environmental problems.

The Fellow will work in a focus area, suited to his/her background and interests, from the range of EDF’s programs: climate and energy, oceans, ecosystems, and health. The Fellow’s responsibilities will include: producing original research, for publication in his/her field, which can inform the development or refinement of EDF’s policy positions; and working collaboratively with other economists, scientists, and experts to develop and advocate for economically and scientifically sound policies.

The Fellow will receive a highly competitive annual salary, plus generous benefits, and will have the option of working from EDF’s Boston, New York City or Washington, D.C. office.

EDF is an equal opportunity employer committed to excellence through diversity.
