The Maine Department of Labor seeks a Director of the Center for Workforce Research and Information (CWRI) (Public Service Manager III). See the full position description here: http://www.maine.gov/sesc/hr.shtml

CWRI develops and disseminates state and area labor market information; provides measurements of labor market outcomes to assist in making decisions that promote economic opportunity and efficient use Maine’s workforce; and supports policy development as well as program planning and evaluation. As the senior executive charged with the management and strategic direction of the Center, based in Augusta, Maine, with 15 employees, the director leads public outreach, system changes and research initiatives while maintaining efficient and effective operation of existing programs.

Desired qualifications include: understanding of economic theory, statistical methods and complex public programs; effective presentation skills; familiarity with data quality initiatives, data-sharing, outcome-based reporting; experience successfully managing teams and individuals; experience communicating complex project information and engaging diverse stakeholders; ability to operate data warehouses, databases and stand-alone data sets to develop information for internal and external customers; advanced degree in economics, statistics or other relevant fields of study preferred.
