Assistant Professor of Public Policy and Public Administration

Application is invited for a tenure-track faculty position in the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration, George Washington University, beginning as early as fall 2017. The position is at the Assistant Professor rank. The Trachtenberg School is nationally ranked among the top twenty graduate programs in public affairs, and is designated as a Center of Excellence by the George Washington University. We offer masters degrees in public policy (MPP), public administration (MPA) and a PhD in Public Policy and Administration.

Position Description Summary:
We seek scholars with a strong research profile or demonstrated scholarly potential in public budgeting and/or public finance. Applicants whose scholarly work combines research in nonprofit management or social policy and in public budgeting or public finance will also receive consideration. Applicants must have the ability to teach core courses in the MPP and/or MPA and PhD programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
(1) PhD in public administration, public policy or related field (e.g., economics, political science). ABDs will be considered but must complete all requirements for the PhD by the date of appointment.
(2) Potential to establish a sustained program of academic research resulting in a strong publication record as evidenced by scholarly publications or works in progress.

Applications received by November 30, 2016 will still be guaranteed full consideration and may be considered for interviews at the AEA meetings in Chicago.
