The Department of Economics at the University of Winnipeg, invites applications for one probationary tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Subject to budgetary approval, the expected start date is July 1, 2017, though some flexibility may be possible. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

We are interested in applicants in the area of Health Economics and/or Agricultural Economics. Applicants should have a PhD or be in the final stages of their dissertation. Candidates are expected to show evidence of the potential for high quality research and effective teaching.

The successful candidate will have research interests in the area of cost benefit analysis and economic project evaluation. The candidate will be expected to work with researchers at the Canadian Centre for Agri-Food Research in Health and Medicine (CCARM) at the Albrechtsen Research Centre at St. Boniface Hospital on areas of joint interest. Research support will be provided by St. Boniface Hospital. The candidate will have an office at the Research Centre and the Department of Economics at the University of Winnipeg, where she/he will teach a range of courses in Economics and perform administrative duties.

It has outstanding research capabilities within CCARM, the Institute for Cardiovascular Sciences, and the Division of Neurodegenerative Disorders in basic science and clinical research.
