Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Dr. Robert Pamplin Jr. School of Business at the University of Portland invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level in our Economics Group. We seek a passionate, creative teacher/scholar interested in economics as a tool to understand actual economies.

The applicant would be expected to teach three courses per semester. In addition to teaching in a support role, the applicant will develop two courses in their fields of specialty. These would contribute to our upper-division economics offerings or to our MBA.

The applicant's support-role teaching will include two sections of decision modeling each academic year. This is a course required of all business majors, offered by the Operations and Technology Management Group. It is a practical, Excel-based course on decision making under uncertainty, including topics like probability theory, multiple regression, and constrained optimization.

The successful applicant will have completed, or be close to completing, a Ph.D. in Economics by the time employment begins fall semester of 2017. Preference will be given to the fields listed above.

The University of Portland is an Equal Opportunity employer deeply dedicated to achieving a diverse faculty and staff.
