The Department of Health Law, Policy & Management in the Boston University School of Public Health invites applications for new full-time faculty positions in health economics. Ideally, candidates will have demonstrated research interest and expertise on the impact of policy changes on disadvantaged populations in line with the mission of the School of Public Health and the affiliated Boston Medical Center (a safety-net hospital). Experience with large databases relating to healthcare access, utilization and outcomes, or electronic medical records and health surveys, is also important. Rank is open. A doctoral degree in a relevant field is required.

Duties will include teaching at least two courses per year (such as Health Economics for Health Services Research, Analysis of Health Policy Issues or Cost Effectiveness). The HLPM department offers M.P.H., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees. It is affiliated with a two-site health services research center of excellence funded by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The balance between teaching and externally-funded scholarly research is flexible and can be individualized. Faculty are appointed under a system of continuously rolling multi-year appointments. The duration of these appointments will correspond to rank and annual merit reviews.
