The Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology at the University of Idaho is inviting applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics, a 9-month, 70% research/30% teaching tenure track position. The successful candidate will develop a nationally-recognized research program in agricultural economics, with areas of interest that may include, but are not limited to: food and commodity markets, international trade, production economics, agricultural and food policy, price analysis and forecasting, industrial organization.

Position expectations are to teach undergraduate and graduate courses based upon educational background, interests, and departmental needs; advise undergraduate and graduate students; publish research; and secure extramural funding to support research and graduate students.

Required qualifications: PhD in Agricultural Economics, Economics or a closely related field by start of employment; excellent training in quantitative methods, and applied microeconomics; demonstrated excellence in oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
