The Department of Econometrics and Operations Research at Tilburg University invites applications for a full-time three-year PostDoc position in the broad area of econometrics, statistics and empirical finance.
The position is funded by the Dutch National Science Foundation (NWO) grant ‘RATE Analytics’, joint with the Computer Science Department at Technical University Eindhoven, Rabobank and the insurance company Achmea. RATE Analytics aims to develop techniques for next generation big data analytics in banking and insurance, with special emphasis on modeling, time variation and and endogeneity.
The candidate should:
-have a PhD in Economics, Econometrics, Finance or Statistics, with specialization in finance, insurance, time series econometrics, financial econometrics, high-dimensional problems, or applied extreme value statistics.
- possess strong computational and modeling skills, and work both independently and in the RATE Analytics team.
- should demonstrate interest in data mining, machine learning, or visual analytics.
We expect the Post-Doc to perform high-quality research, publish in highly ranked international journals in economics and finance, participate in seminars and conferences, be willing to work at multiple locations, and transfer knowledge to Rabobank and Achmea and to RATE Analytics PhD students.
