Candidates will ideally have research interests in the area of microeconomics, including public, health, education, labor, finance, growth and development, and IO. Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to and promise of excellence in undergraduate teaching as well as the ability to complete high quality academic research. An ideal applicant is someone who enjoys working in a collegial environment, is interested in teaching small classes at the undergraduate level, shows the potential to conduct high quality empirical research, and wants to use their academic background to provide economic policy analysis for the Army.

The Office of Economic and Manpower Analysis (OEMA) is an analytical organization for the Army that houses the largest repository of online personnel data in the Department of Defense. Faculty members in OEMA have unique access to this data to answer policy relevant empirical questions leading to academic publications and to answer questions related to manpower issues facing the Army and the Defense Department. For more information on OEMA and the recent research done within the office, please visit the following website: http://www.usma.edu/sosh/sitepages/oema.aspx.
