The Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia seeks economists of any level doing research in any of the following fields: urban and regional economics, economic geography, real estate markets, state and local finance, local public goods, local labor markets, industrial organization, innovation, technological change, and applied microeconomics. Responsibilities include actively engaging in research for publication in top-tier academic journals, briefing the Bank's president on policy issues, and writing nontechnical articles for our Economic Insights quarterly. Excellent research skills are vital, as are good writing and speaking skills. Both experienced research economists and new Ph.D.s are encouraged to apply. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in economics or reasonably expect to complete all requirements for the degree by September 2017.
