The Department of Economics seeks a highly qualified individual for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The individual will normally teach four courses per year (six credit hours per semester), conduct research in their field and participate in the University’s Center for Economic Analysis and Policy. The CEAP umbrella includes the State of the Region report, the State of the Commonwealth Report, and the University’s Economic Forecasting Project. Each of these is a highly regarded enterprise with external funding that attracts widespread regional attention and large audiences at periodic public events. Hence, the ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills for both lay and professional audiences and excellent empirical capabilities. There is a preference for applied candidates in Labor Economics, or Transportation/Regional Economics. Prior experience within a Center for Business and Economic Research or equivalent organization is a plus. Proficiency in R is also a plus. Outstanding

candidates in other applied microeconomic fields may also be considered. A Ph.D. is required. Associate Professor candidates should have an established record of scholarship.
