The Economics Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a position in international trade and applied microeconomics at the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) level. The emphasis is in international trade and applied microeconomics with possible overlap with development, labor, immigration, industrial organization, and other fields in applied microeconomics. Possible related areas of teaching might include introductory, intermediate, and graduate levels of international trade, econometrics, and topics in applied microeconomics.

The Economics Department has a Ph.D. program, a professional Master’s program, and several undergraduate programs. Applicants will be expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate level; advise and mentor graduate students; and contribute to graduate education, the research environment of the department, and to university and professional service. The successful candidate must be able to work with students, faculty, and staff from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds. The campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service.
