Stony Brook University, home to many highly ranked graduate research programs, is located 60 miles from New York City on Long Island's scenic North Shore. Our 1,100-acre campus is home to 24,000 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students and more than 13,500 faculty and staff. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Economics or related field. Documented excellence in teaching and research.

Preferred Qualifications: Interest in health and environmental issues.

Responsibilities & Requirements: The Department of Economics at Stony Brook University invites applications for an open-rank position in the field of Development Economics. Interest in health and environmental issues is preferred. We seek a candidate focused on applied work who can help to strengthen the relationship of the Department of Economics with the University's campus wide commitment to "Planetary Health" (improving human health and the systems upon which we depend). The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Economics or related field, and the clear potential to establish an internationally recognized, externally funded research program that would include the mentoring of graduate and undergraduate students. The candidate will be an effective teacher in undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of applied Economics and will develop programs that will enhance the Department's tradition of interdisciplinary research.
