The Social Science Division at Swarthmore College invites applications for a three-year, instructional staff position: Social Science Quantitative Laboratory (SSQL) Associate. The SSQL associate will promote students’ quantitative and computational skills by providing tutorial services that support the coursework and research component of courses in the social science curriculum. Candidates should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, graduate transcript, and three letters of recommendation through https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/7684 In addition, please submit a syllabus for a mini-course (5 or 6 weeks) on the essential dimensions of independent empirical research and a writing sample of not more than 30 pages that demonstrates quantitative acuity and effective communication of methodological ideas. In your cover letter, please describe briefly your knowledge of statistical software; what would be attractive to you about working in a liberal arts college environment; and what experiences or interests make you a strong tutor of students from diverse backgrounds.
