Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Management to begin September 1, 2017. Qualified applicants will be considered for the additional appointment of endowed chair of economics-capital systems, a renewable three-year appointment which includes an annual stipend and professional development funds. The purpose of the endowed chair is to advance the teaching and learning of economics, specifically capital systems.

We seek candidates who have a doctoral degree in Economics from an AACSB-accredited university. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching and maintain an active scholarly research agenda appropriate for a college emphasizing undergraduate education. Primary teaching responsibilities will include six courses per year. Specific course assignments are somewhat flexible, but would include Business Finance and Principles of Micro- or Macroeconomics plus at least one of the following: Statistics, International Trade and Finance, Economic Development, and Econometrics.
