The University of California Riverside, Department of Economics, invites applications for an open rank faculty appointment in Econometrics. All areas of Econometrics will be considered. A successful candidate would be a developer of new econometrics methods either in cross-sectional econometrics or in time series econometrics, possibly dealing with high dimensional data issues, and ideally interacting with other researchers in social sciences, statistics, computer sciences, and sciences in general in our campus.

Senior applicants will have an established record of outstanding research accomplishment and be committed to an active research program. They will have a proven record of mentoring and guiding research of doctoral students, a proven record of excellence in teaching graduate and undergraduate students, a record of leadership or potential for leadership in the department, to develop collaborative relationships with other units on campus and a commitment to support diversity. Senior applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics or a related field at the time of application.

Junior applicants must show potential for engaging in outstanding research and developing excellence in teaching graduate and undergraduate students and a commitment to support diversity. Junior applicants must be ABD or have met the requirements for the Ph.D. in Economics or a related field by the time of appointment July 1, 2017.

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with education and experience. Advancement through the faculty ranks at the University of California is through a series of structured, merit-based evaluations, occurring every 2-3 years, each of which includes substantial peer input. Review of the applications will begin November 15th, 2016 and will continue until the position is filled.
