The Health Economics and Finance Team (HEFT) within the Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality (CBHSQ), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) are recruiting for a Social Science Analyst (Staff Fellow). Incumbent will serve as a health economist with duties including conducting research and evaluation studies on behavioral health care financing and health insurance coverage, particularly in the context of health care reform; and exploring areas for research on the costs and expenditures for treatment and prevention of mental and substance use disorders.

Qualified applicants must have a strong background in applied microeconomics and possess strong analytical and empirical skills. Knowledge of behavioral health and applied health policy issues, in addition to proficiency in oral and written communication is essential. U.S. citizenship is required.
