The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) seeks an exceptional, experienced economist for the position of Senior Financial Economist in the Risk Analysis Branch of the Division of Insurance and Research. Candidates will have strong communication skills and experience in economics, banking, or finance.

Senior Financial Economists in the Risk Analysis Branch identify emerging risks and vulnerabilities in the global economy and financial markets; monitor global economic and financial market conditions; and evaluate their impact on the U.S. economy, financial markets, banking sector, and the FDIC Deposit Insurance Fund. Economists perform a variety of complex quantitative and qualitative analyses on a wide range of issues, both independently and as team leaders, and present findings to senior FDIC leadership and other internal and external groups. Senior Financial Economists work on interdivisional and interagency projects, and they are recognized as subject matter experts in macroeconomics, financial economics, and quantitative methods.
