Degree and area of specialization:
Candidates are required to have an earned doctorate in economics or economics of education.

Minimum # of years and relevant work experience:
We seek a scholar with the potential for excellence in research, teaching, and service. Candidates for the position should demonstrate a strong potential to achieve excellence in a program of scholarly research; the ability to secure extramural funding for research; and ability for teaching at the university level.

Duties:
The School of Education at UW-Madison seeks to appoint an outstanding scholar engaged in scientific research on education policy from the disciplinary perspective of economics. The successful candidate will be appointed in the department of educational leadership and policy analysis (ELPA) and will contribute to an Institute of Education Sciences funded by the Interdisciplinary Training Program (ITP) in education science. The scholar we seek will be expected to pursue rigorous, cutting-edge research; advise graduate research in the area of economics of education and education policy more broadly; develop and maintain extramural funding for research; teach graduate courses in econometric methods and/or education policy (or economics of education); contribute to the advancement of the ELPA policy analysis program, and participate in faculty governance activities.
