The Department of Agricultural Economics at Mississippi State University is seeking an Assistant Professor to develop a nationally recognized research and teaching program that addresses the economics of precision agriculture systems, and to conduct research related to the collection and use of large scale, high frequency, or high resolution data. The incumbent will focus research in statistical analysis related to agriculture and environmental economics, methodological advances related to analyzing large data sets, and the collection of such data and policy issues underpinning remote sensing, anonymous collection, or shared ownership of data resources. Skills in spatial econometrics are highly desired. This is a 9-month, tenure-track position with an anticipated appointment of 50% Research and 50% Teaching. An earned Ph.D. (or A.B.D.) in agricultural economics, economics, or a related field,is required.
