The Department of Marine Sciences at Texas A&M University Galveston Campus seeks applications for a for a nine-month, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate level with expertise in the area of Coastal Environmental Policy beginning Fall 2016. Candidates from public policy/administration, policy analysis, political science, environmental law, or other closely related fields are invited to apply. The successful candidate will have research expertise that is geographically focused on coastal or marine areas within one or more policy areas including: natural resources and environment, adaptive management, water, wildlife, climate, hazards, and development.

We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated or strong potential for teaching and research performance. We are specifically looking for a person that can contribute to, and benefit from an interdisciplinary environment and interact with colleagues in our natural sciences and resource management programs. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the Master’s in Marine Resource Management program through mentoring and teaching core courses and have the opportunity to collaborate with others in the Department of Marine Sciences, the Center for Texas Beaches and Shores, and the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.

The Department is interested in candidates with a strong record of, or potential for externally funded research, scholarship, and peer-reviewed publication. Applicants must have completed their doctorate in public policy/administration, policy analysis, political science, environmental law, or other closely related field by September 1, 2016. The successful candidate must have the ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting that involves integrating data from the social, ecological, and physical sciences. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
