Saint Mary's University (www.smu.ca) invites applications for a tenure-track position in International Business and Trade relevant to any of the following disciplines: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing or Operations. Tier II Canada Research Chairs are awarded to individuals normally within ten years of their Ph.D. and targeted at emerging leaders in their fields, capable of maintaining a vigorous, independent, externally funded research program (see www.chairs.gc.ca for details).

The successful candidate will be nominated by the University to the Canada Research Chair Secretariat and, if approved, will be appointed as a regular faculty member to a tenure-track position at the appropriate rank.

The Canada Research Chair (CRC) program was established by the Government of Canada to enable Canadian Universities to achieve the highest levels of research excellence in the global, knowledge-based economy (www.chairs.gc.ca/). Tier II Chair appointments are for exceptional emerging researchers acknowledged by their peers as having the potential to lead in their fields.

The Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary's University is a balanced research/teaching institution (http://www.smu.ca/webfiles/SobeySchoolofBusinessStrategicPlan_Website.pdf). It has the largest commerce program in the Atlantic Provinces and offers AACSB accredited degrees at the undergraduate, masters and PhD levels.

Although candidates of all nationalities are encouraged to apply, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents (all applicants should clearly indicate their status as a Canadian citizen or permanent resident). Applicants should submit an application package consisting of a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, a teaching dossier including evidence of teaching effectiveness, a sample of recent scholarly writing, graduate school transcripts, and three letters of reference.
