The School for the Environment (SFE) at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a tenure-track assistant professorship in environmental/ecological economics, or closely related field, with a broad analytical interest/capability related to coupled natural-human systems. Appointment begins 9/1/16. We seek an individual with demonstrated expertise and ability to develop a mature research program in socio-economic dimensions of the environment, particularly in coastal systems. Specialties of interest include economic applications to environmental decision making; sustainability policy; social adaptation and mitigation of global climate and environmental change at various system levels; and, the consequences of market and regulatory contexts for decision-making.

Candidates must have an earned doctorate in economics or a closely aligned economics-informed field. Post-doctoral experience preferred. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to teaching and research in a transdisciplinary program and a strong publication record and experience working on large, transdisciplinary research projects.
