Faculty Position in Health Care Administration

Hofstra University’s Department of Health Professions invites applications for an anticipated tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Health Care Administration. Research or teaching experience in patient safety and quality, healthcare engineering, health care administration/organization, health services research, health policy, health economics, or data analytics is preferred; exceptional candidates with experience in related areas will be considered.

Qualifications: Candidates must hold a PhD, or equivalent degree, by 1 August 2016. Preference will be given to candidates with an established record or demonstrated potential for teaching excellence, scholarly activity, mentoring students, and working with community groups.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will instruct graduate students in the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program and related graduate programs. In addition, the candidate will mentor and advise students, maintain an active, collaborative research agenda, and actively participate in and contribute to Department and University committees and services.

The MHA Program at Hofstra University is a large and dynamic program that draws both early and mid-career students from across the health care continuum. Academic-based faculty as well as health care executives provide expertise and resources to the program offering students a rich theoretical and applied foundation in health care administration.

Hofstra University is located on Long Island, 25 miles east of New York City in Nassau County. The University enrolls approximately 12,000 graduate and undergraduate students. The School of Health Professions and Human Services is Hofstra’s newest school, home to four flourishing departments: Health Professions; Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences; and Counseling and Mental Health Professions. The Department of Health Professions has over 400 undergraduate students and over 200 graduate students in its Master of Public Health, Master of Health Administration, Master of Science in Community Health, Occupational Therapy, and Sports Science programs.
