The Economics Department of Tilburg University’s School of Economics and Management invites applications for a position in Macroeconomics (or related fields). The position will be filled at the level of tenure-track Assistant Professor or (tenured) Associate Professor. We are looking for applicants with outstanding research potential and the potential of teaching macroeconomics at all levels. The TT position offers ample opportunities to do research as it carries a light teaching load (approximately one course per semester). For TT Assistant Professors, after at most five years a tenure decision is made. Female candidates are especially encouraged to apply.

Tilburg University is based in the Netherlands and has a strong reputation in doing economic research. It offers competitive European salaries. Moreover, researchers from outside the Netherlands can apply for tax-free allowance equal to 30% of their taxable salary. The University also offers a generous pension scheme. The School will provide assistance in finding suitable accommodation and in other relevant relocation issues.

Tilburg is the host to an internationally recognized large research center, CentER, which after its establishment in 1988 has evolved into a broad-based research institute spanning every field of economics and business. Among the research institutes centered in Tilburg, the European Banking Center (EBC) is a research platform dedicated to connect researchers across Europe specializing in Macroeconomics and Banking, while Netspar is a network devoted to the study of pensions, aging and retirement. Tilburg is often ranked among the top European institutions specializing in social sciences.
