The Swiss Finance Institute (SFI) at Università della Svizzera italiana opens a post-doctoral research position. SFI is a foundation created in 2006 by Switzerland's banking and finance community in cooperation with leading Swiss universities.

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct empirical research in finance, preferably but not exclusively in the areas capital market regulation, corporate governance, and crowdfunding. The candidate is expected to contribute to collaborative research projects and grant proposals and publish high-quality research.

The ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications:

-Ph.D. in Finance, Economics, or related discipline, with strong foundation in quantitative methods, and a keen interest in empirical finance;

-Familiarity with econometric analysis and software (STATA, R, etc.) and in experience gathering and processing financial data;

-Ideally programming and Database Experience;

-Excellent command of English and Swiss languages (German or Italian).

The position starts as soon as possible, or at a date to be arranged. It is assumed that the candidate for this position is willing to work at the SFI Lugano-USI and reside in Ticino, Switzerland.
