Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) invites applications for a named professorship to begin in July 1, 2016 (or as soon thereafter as possible) in the field of Energy Policy. The professorship can be filled at the rank of the assistant, associate or full professor.

PhD in economics or related field is required. Senior candidates must have a distinguished publication record; junior candidates must show promise of developing an outstanding publication record, suitable for tenure at a leading research university. Research and teaching interests must include conventional energy resources, such as hydrocarbons, nuclear or hydroelectric power. Interest in the relevance of research for policy is essential. A record of engagement in the policy process would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and intellectual leadership in the SIPA energy curriculum at the master’s and PhD level, and engage with other Columbia faculty working in the energy, sustainable development, and related fields.
