The genoeconomics group at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is offering a PostDoc position in Genoeconomics/Statistical Genetics. We are seeking a highly motivated, talented individual with an outstanding academic record who is able to immediately contribute to the ongoing research activities of the Complex Trait Genetics lab (www.ctglab.nl) and the SSGAC (www.ssgac.org). Contributions to teaching are encouraged, but not required. The initial appointment will be for a period of 2 year. Conditional on performance and the ability to attract external research funds, a contract extension and conversion into a tenure-track position is possible.
Applicants are expected to have a PhD or doctorate degree by the time the appointment begins in any of the following fields: economics, econometrics, statistics, computer science, complex trait genetics or a related quantitative/computational field. Proficiency in programming (e.g. R, Matlab) and experience with big data in UNIX-based computer environments are expected. Knowledge of genetic principles, data, and programs used in complex trait genetics (e.g. Plink, GCTA, SnpTest, Impute) is an advantage but not a requirement. We expect fluency in English and the ability to work in a large, inter-disciplinary, international research team.
