Research can focus on US and/or international aspects of inequality. This fellowship is part of the Roosevelt Institute and Columbia University Project on Economic Inequality. Fellows may spend part of their time at the Roosevelt Institute or one of the other partner institutions in the Project. The inequality fellowships will last up to two years in duration.

At least one of the postdoctoral fellowships is for research in macroeconomics, with a particular focus on advancing our understanding of the explanations of deep downturns, slow recovery, and debt crises resolution. This post doctoral fellowship is part of the Institute of New Economic Thinking (INET) Task Force on macro-economic externalities, highlighting market failures associated with the 2008 and other crises, and including analyses of the consequences of rigidities, non-rational expectations, credit and other market interlinkages, etc.
