The Department of Economics and Geosciences anticipates filling one or two Assistant Professor of Economics positions beginning approximately June 27, 2016. Responsibilities include: teaching some combination of introductory economics, intermediate microeconomics, intermediate macroeconomics, international economics, econometrics, development of economic thought, or other upper-division undergraduate economics electives; academic advising; serving as a faculty mentor for undergraduate capstone research projects; maintaining a strong record of teaching and research; serving on departmental and Academy committees and as a consultant on economic problems for the Academy, the Air Force, and the Department of Defense. Candidates with interests in and experience conducting interdicplinary research at the intersection of economics and the geosciences, particularly those with an interest in spatial modelling and spatial econometrics, are encouraged to apply.

The United States Air Force Academy, located just north of Colorado Springs, Colorado, awards the Bachelor of Science degree as part of its mission to educate, train, and inspire men and women to become officers of character, motivated to lead the United States Air Force in service to our nation. The initial appointment is for three years. Successive reappointments of up to four years will be based upon an assessment of performance, Air Force and departmental needs, and funding availability. The Academy faculty is an integrated group of military and civilian educators, with a record of offering continuing appointments to civilian faculty after demonstrated excellence in the initial three-year appointment.
