University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) Business School and SHU-UTS SILC Business School of Shanghai University jointly invite applications from candidates with strong research and teaching capabilities for the position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor. The joint appointment is primarily based in Shanghai for 9-10 months per year to teach the dual degree programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels, with the remaining 2-3 months working in Sydney, Australia to fulfill its duties at UTS. The joint appointment expects high quality research publishable at top-ranked business journals.

The joint appointment is equally funded by UTS and Shanghai University in order to strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two schools over the past 20 years. Initial joint appointment is based on a three-year probationary contract. After that, successful candidates will maintain a permanent joint appointment position that is commensurate with the qualifications.

We have openings for multiple positions to start in the fall of 2016. Junior candidates are expected to complete a Ph.D. degree by August 2016 and show evidence of promising research and teaching. Senior candidates should have an established record of research and teaching. All fields of finance and economics are considered, with preferences given to research interests in Market Microstructure, Quantitative Finance, Corporate Finance, International Finance, Macro-finance, International Economics, and Energy/Environmental Economics.

The joint appointment offers competitive salary, research funding, housing and travelling subsidies, plus the unique benefit of living in both Shanghai and Sydney.
