Full Text of JOE Listing:

The CDC established the 2-year Steven M. Teutsch Prevention Effectiveness Fellowship to address an ongoing demand in public health for rigorous health economics-based inquiry through the recruitment, internal placement, and professional development of public health economists. Prevention effectiveness and public health economics aim to assess the impact of public health policies, programs, and practices on health outcomes by determining efficacy, effectiveness, and efficiency through the use of econometric, decision, simulation, and operations modeling and analytic methods.

CDC is recruiting to fill approximately 10 fellowship positions for 2016. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in economics, health services research or related health sciences, industrial engineering, operations research, public policy, or related quantitatively-oriented fields. All doctoral degree requirements must be completed by 7/15/2016.

The starting annual salary is approximately $73,000 plus benefits. The application period is 9/14/2015 to 1/22/2016. The 2016 class begins on 8/7/2016.
