Full Text of JOE Listing:

The California Association of Realtors (C.A.R.) Economist is responsible for research pertaining to economic factors affecting the industry. This individual will contribute to tracking trends in housing market and economy, and member and industry trends, and provide support to other organization functions.

Responsibilities:
oProvide analytic research and analysis on California housing market and real estate finance related policy issues.
oAnalyze real estate finance data, prepare content/analysis for car.org, newsletters etc and media releases.
oAssist with C.A.R. membership, economic and housing market forecasts.
oWork with team to determine overall direction of research program and develops new projects/activities to be implemented in support of research program objectives.
oProduce reports, analyses and articles on housing market and economy.
oRespond to inquiries on housing market and real estate finance.
oPublic speaking.
oPrepare special reports and presentation materials.
oPrepare analysis in support of C.A.R. public policy and legislative efforts.

Requirements:
•Master’s degree, Economics.
•3-5+ years’ experience
•Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis
•High level of independent decision-making
•Ability to apply economic analysis and quantitative methods
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Ability to work effectively with others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner.
•Consistency in giving feedback regarding work progress, timetable and issues.
