Full Text of JOE Listing:

The National Center for Institutional Diversity (NCID) at the University of Michigan is accepting applications for its Postdoctoral Fellows and Scholars Program. This program provides a unique opportunity for a one-year fellowship to become more competitive for tenure at a major university.

This university-wide, interdisciplinary initiative seeks to advance NCID’s national commitment to institutional diversity and its strategic agenda to bridge exemplary scholarship with multilevel engagement and innovation. We are particularly interested in candidates who are engaged in innovative scholarship, research, or creative work on some aspect of diversity in the broadest sense. Awards are determined by the overall rigor of scholarly work, as well as fit between research interests and the anticipated academic department.

The application deadline is November 2, 2015 for a fall 2016 start date.

Required application materials include:
• CV;
• Statement of proposed research and writing to be conducted during the fellowship year;
• Statement of contribution explaining how the applicant’s research, teaching, and diversity commitments will contribute to both NCID and a related U-M academic or research unit;
• Dissertation abstract;
• Writing sample
• At least two letters of recommendation.
