The UWF Haas Center seeks a Director to lead its research efforts in the area of business and economic development. The Center is organizationally located in UWF’s Center for Research and Economic Opportunity (CREO) housed within Academic Affairs. The Haas Center is a research and consulting arm of the University of West Florida that engages in applied research and strategy development in economics and across the social sciences. The Haas Center has played a prominent role in economic development efforts across the Northwest Florida Region and around the state for the past two decades.

The Director will be responsible for identifying, developing and delivering contract research activity. The Director will oversee relationships with a broad range of research clients on multiple concurrent projects, use strong project marketing capabilities, research methods and statistical analysis, along with written report and presentation abilities to attract and retain new Haas Center clients and revenue from sources around the state and the nation. The Director will oversee the Haas Team, be responsible for budget, contract negotiation and all deliverables.

Minimum requirements are a Master’s Degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience.

Preferred requirements include a PhD with a focus on research methods with related experience in grant and contract acquisition and fulfillment. Strong presentation and contract negotiation skills are also desired.

Salary range: Commensurate with Experience
