The University of California Riverside, Department of Economics invites applications for a
tenure-track assistant professor position in labor economics. We are particularly interested in candidates with
a strong command of applied econometrics and whose research explores substantive issues in labor
and labor- related fields. Responsibilities include developing a strong research program and
teaching/advising Ph.D and undergraduate students. Applicants are expected to have a demonstrated
commitment to high- quality scholarly research, and must be ABD or have a Ph.D by the start of
appointment; July 1, 2016. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with education and
experience. Advancement through the faculty ranks at the University of California is through a
series of structured, merit-based evaluations, occurring every 2-3 years, each of which includes
substantial peer input.
