NYU School of Law invites applications for an Empirical Research Methodologist beginning Fall 2015. Under the direction of the Faculty, the Empirical Research Methodologist will be responsible for:
• working with the NYU School of Law faculty to conceptualize, design and execute empirical research across a broad range of legal fields;
• assisting faculty with data retrieval, modeling, results interpretation, and other elements of empirical research projects;
• supervising and providing input to student research assistants working for faculty on empirical research projects.
He/she will have strong general empirical research and analytical skills, be skilled at building relationships and communicating with faculty, be detail-oriented, and have an ardent interest in and familiarity with empirical social science.

Qualifications:
Required Education: PhD in an area (e.g., economics, sociology, political science, statistics, finance) that emphasizes development of strong empirical research skills.

Required Experience: Work on substantial academic and/or professional projects involving empirical research. No legal background is required for the position.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Expertise in current statistics and data analysis software. Strong analytical, writing, organizational and interpersonal skills. General computer programming skills a plus.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary: $70,000 per year
