MIT Economics Professor Amy Finkelstein is seeking a full-time Post-Doctoral Researcher for a three-year position in Cambridge, MA starting January to August 2016. The position involves work on aspects of her research related to the analysis of public and private health insurance programs, and the variation in healthcare practices across geography, healthcare providers and insurers. Examples of recent research in this vein include: http://economics.mit.edu/files/10259 and http://economics.mit.edu/files/10388.

Candidates must have a PhD in Economics by the start date and be well trained in empirical research and methods, including both quasi-experimental and more model-based approaches. Extensive prior experience working with Medicare claims data and excellent research practices are a must.
