The Department of Economics at Georgetown University has two openings for Teaching Professors at the Associate or Full Teaching Professor levels. Appointments will be for terms of up to five years with possible renewal. Compensation will be at market rates.

The primary responsibility of incumbents will be to teach five courses per year in the undergraduate and/or masters programs, with the possibility of additional summer teaching. Other duties, such as advising students and service on University or Departmental committees, will be assigned as appropriate by the Department Chairman.

Candidates should have extensive experience and demonstrated success in teaching a variety of courses in economics at the undergraduate or graduate level. In general, candidates should be capable of teaching microeconomic or macroeconomic theory, introductory statistics and econometrics, and courses in at least two fields. Field courses may include: Labor Economics, Industrial Organization, Public Economics, Environmental Economics, Law and Economics, Health Economics, Game Theory, Energy Economics, Advanced Macroeconomics, Financial Economics, Money and Banking, Monetary Theory and Policy, Monetary and Financial Economics, International Economics, International Trade, International Finance, Development Economics, Open-Economy Macroeconomics, Advanced Microeconometrics, Program Evaluation, Time-Series Econometrics, Statistical Sampling and Survey Research Methods, Business and Public Sector Forecasting, and potentially other courses.

Specific requirements include a Ph.D. degree in Economics or a closely related field and at least six years (Associate Teaching Professor) or at least eleven years (Full Teaching Professor) of post-Ph.D. university teaching experience.
