Tenure track 12 month, full time. Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics or related field, and have compiled a demonstrable record of academic achievement and professional experience consistent with the university rank of ‘Full Professor.’ Candidates must provide evidence of leadership, team-building skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, administrative experience, and a strong record of academic teaching/advising proficiency. In addition, candidates must demonstrate their experience and success in actively recruiting and mentoring students and faculty from diverse cultures, and in promoting an academic program to the community, university, industry, granting agencies, government, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will serve as an advocate for the department and reports directly to the Dean of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. The Department Head is responsible for providing vision and leadership to the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Business and for making administrative decisions relating to academics, facilities, fiscal matters, personnel, staffing and policies, program planning and development, which includes fundraising and outreach to the community and industry. The Department of Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Business, comprises 15 faculty (7 tenure track), 8-10 permanent administrative staff and enrolls approximately 140 undergraduates and 20 graduate students. The Department of Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Business including Extension Economics (AEAB) has a long and proud history of Teaching, Research, and Extension since its founding in 1925. The Department’s faculty, staff, specialists and students are the core and foundation of our learning, discovery and scholarly community with its aim to address the different economic, environmental, social and technological issues that challenge the agribusiness and food sectors, natural resource managers, and rural communities. Central to its academic mission, the Department is dedicated to fostering a learning and teaching environment which highly values student and learner success and achievement.
