The Research Foundation is a private, non-profit corporation that supports the advancement of education, research, and discovery at the State University of New York (SUNY). Established in 1951, the RF carries out its responsibilities pursuant to a formal contract with SUNY that has been in force since 1977. Separate from SUNY, the RF is able to form partnerships that enhance SUNY's education, research, and public service mission, and spur economic development across New York State. The primary service offered by the RF is sponsored programs administration. The infrastructure in place for sponsored programs allows for RF to also administer agency funds and assist campuses with establishing affiliated corporations.

Farmingdale State College thru The Research Foundation for SUNY is seeking to hire a 10 month Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (Economics/Economic Geography/Regional Science) . This is a grant funded position (2 years) for a Post-Doc to work as a Research Associate in the development of an empirical simulation model of the Long Island Economy. Specific job duties include supervision of undergraduate assistants, assistance with the construction of a CGE model of Long Island, data collection and analysis, development of economic/GIS database, and support and assistance in generating reports and completion of publications related to the grant. Preferred specialization areas include Urban and Regional Economics, Geography/Economic Geography, or Regional Science.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Economics, Economic Geography, Geography, Regional Science or closely related field (ABD with all degree requirements completed including the dissertation defense by the date of appointment). Familiarity and experience with software/methods such as Implan, GAMS, ArcGIS, I/O analysis, CGE and DSGE modeling.

Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. already awarded, experience in a regional research center (Business and Economics research, Regional Planning, etc.)

This is a full-time grant funded position (2 years).
