Full Text of JOE Listing:

The School of International Relations and Pacific Studies at UC San Diego http://irps.ucsd.edu invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the field of politics and public policy to begin July 1, 2015.

Applicants should be new or recent PhD graduates with an outstanding record in a PhD program in political science, public policy or economics. The successful candidate will have a background broadly in the field of public policy. Examples include political scientists within the fields of American, comparative or international politics with focuses on: the politics of policy design; policy implementation or effectiveness; or, micro-economists with a focus on regulation, firms, and social welfare. IR/PS has a special interest in candidates who can teach in a new and developing master's in public policy (MPP) program while also contributing to the School's larger mission of teaching public policy with an international focus. For the appropriate candidate there may be opportunities to work jointly between IR/PS and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) for a UCSD campus-wide initiative on climate change adaptation, but that focus is not a requirement for the position. Applicants must have a PhD conferred or to be completed by July 1, 2015.

The School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS) http://irps.ucsd.edu/ at UC San Diego (UCSD) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body. Preferred candidates should demonstrate the highest standards of professional research, teaching, and service and contribute to our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in higher education.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.

Review of applications will begin September 15, 2014 and continue until the position is filled.
