The School of Public Policy at Central European University, is, in the words of its founder, George Soros, a “new kind of global institution dealing with global problems” through multi-disciplinary study of public policy, innovative teaching and research, as well as meaningful engagement with policy practice. In our third major wave of hiring, we seek to fill the position of Assistant Professor in Applied Microeconomics - including Public Finance, Education, Health, Behavioral, Development, Urban, Environmental, Political Economy, and Public Policy Analysis. We also welcome applications from Institutional Economists and Economic Historians.
The newly appointed faculty member will help shape SPP’s progressive research agenda, teaching programs and engagement with practice. We seek an academic entrepreneur ready to contribute to a vibrant intellectual community and committed to improving public policy worldwide through excellent research, innovative teaching, extensive engagement with policy practice, and cooperation with CEU’s external partners including the Institute for New Economic Thinking, whose Curriculum Open-access Resources in Economics (CORE) curriculum is utilized in teaching Economics at SPP.
This is a tenure track position with initial fixed term (4 years) appointment and possibility of further indefinite long-term renewals.
