Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Market Monitor is responsible for performing analysis of the SPP energy and transmission services markets in support of monitoring for and prevention of market power abuse, market manipulation, and gaming. The Monitor is also responsible for evaluating market rules and market performance to ensure markets are efficient and effective. Interaction with real-time operations requires rotating on-call responsibilities with other Monitors within the section. The multi-disciplinary structure of the group requires effective teamwork to achieve desired results. The position also interacts with SPP internal departments, senior management, regulatory staff and market participants. Market Monitors are expected to manage individual work effort and support team efforts in the development of metrics, analysis and responses to inquiries with limited supervision, and initiate new and unique analysis and reports.

Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in economics, math, statistics, finance, operations research, or other related field

Experience Requirements:
Lead Market Monitor - Ten (10) years experience of industry experience in market monitoring
Sr. Market Monitor - Five (5) years of industry experience in market monitoring
