The Luskin Center seeks to hire an economist with strong empirical quantitative skills. The successful candidate would have the opportunity to conduct, analyze and translate research focused on energy, climate action, clean transportation and more.

Research and analysis
• Plan, conduct and design advanced economic and statistical analyses.
• Develop tools and analysis that enable policymakers and stakeholders to analyze environmental and energy economic and policy issues.
• Develop grant and contract proposals.

Project management
• Supervise the work of junior researchers.
• Provide timely responses to information demand from external audiences, including the media.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess some combination of the following qualifications:
• PhD (or advanced candidacy) in Economics, Public Policy or other related field with an emphasis on advanced statistical analysis.
• Strong quantitative skills including: advanced statistical analysis (including randomized controlled trials), modeling and organizing, manipulating and combining multiple datasets.
• Strong communication skills, including excellent writing skills.

Contract Length and Location:
The contract position is two years with possibility of extension. The position is based in the UCLA Luskin Center for Innovation under the direction of Dr. J.R. DeShazo.
