The Bank of Lithuania is inviting applications for the newly created Center for Excellence in Finance and Economic Research (CEFER) — a joint cooperation of the Bank of Lithuania and Vilnius University.

The Bank of Lithuania is Lithuania’s central bank and as of 1 January 2015 a member of the Eurosystem. The key responsibilities of the Bank of Lithuania are price stability, financial stability and the efficiency of the financial market. Economic research is an integral part of the Bank’s work flow and the decision making process. In 2012 supervision of the financial and insurance markets and financial conduct was consolidated and now is part of the central bank providing ample research ideas and interesting regulatory and supervisory data. Vilnius University is the biggest public university offering a wide range of degrees in economics and finance as well as in other fields. The two institutions have teamed up to create a nucleus for high-quality research in relevant fields of economics and finance. The Center is based in Vilnius, Lithuania.

We are currently looking for several enthusiastic and creative economists at senior as well as junior level working in the fields of Macroeconomics, Macro Finance and Financial Markets.

The position is research-centered (a commitment explicitly expressed by both establishing institutions) with minimal policy involvement and optional teaching load.

Requirements:
• A Ph.D. in economics, finance or related fields
• Research in above-mentioned fields with high publication potential
• Experience in estimation and modelling
• Proven ability to cooperate and network to sustain joint projects
• Flexibility in collaborating across fields
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills in English
